How long does LCL shipping take?
Sea shipping generally takes approximately 6-10 weeks, depending on your origin and destination. LCL tends to take slightly longer than FCL due to consolidation and deconsolidation.
What is the maximum CBM for LCL?
The maximum for a single package is 3000 kg and 29 CBM and the maximum limit per booking is 20,000 kg and 60 CBM.
Do I need a customs broker, or can I do customs clearance myself?
This is a complex issue to evaluate. If you’ve got the right skills, moderate import/export flows and simple products (from a customs perspective), it might be more appropriate for you to undertake the customs clearance process yourself.
However, if your company is shipping in bulk across multiple geographies, you’re strongly advised to seek the support of a customs broker. A customs broker can help you avoid errors and navigate trade complexities.
How can I get a LCL price?
To obtain a price quote for LCL (Less-than-Container Load) shipping, you can easily reach out to UUCargo by sending an email to info@uucargo.ca. When composing your email, it’s helpful to include specific details about your shipment, such as:
(1) The nature of the goods you’re shipping.
(2) The dimensions and weight of your cargo.
(3) The origin and destination of the shipment.
(4) Any special handling or shipping requirements you may have.
Providing this information will enable the team at UUCargo to give you a more accurate and tailored LCL shipping quote.
How do I calculate the volume for my LCL cargo?
Within our LCL booking portal, you can use our virtual calculator to calculate your CBM volumes based on your cargo’s height, weight, length and width.
What if my LCL cargo exceeds the maximum limit?
If you exceed the limit for a single package of 3,000 kg and 29 CBM, or the total of 20,000 kg and 60 CBM, please contact our LCL experts.
